Tina Plokarz<\/strong> (she\/her) is a curator, public art consultant and art historian living and working in Berlin. Her experience ranges from developing and implementing cabinet displays and public conferences to large-scale public art commissions of visual and performance art. Her expertise also includes strategic planning for public art projects, cultivating partnerships, and raising funds, as well as writing essays and reviews for exhibition catalogues and magazines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plokarz is interested in creating interactive, immersive experiences that challenge our understanding of identity and participation, and that engage people with questions about the environment and social life. She has worked with a variety of artists and performers, including Maria Dumlao, Jean Shin, Aaron Terry, Sarah Kavage, Rob Carter, JAK, Anike Joyce Sadiq, Ana Vizcarra Rankin, Emma Sulkowicz, Jordan Griska, Hamish Fulton, and LIGNA, among others. She has contributed essays to magazines and publications, such as\u00a0Al Mudhif \u2013 A Confluence<\/em>\u00a0(2024),\u00a0Hamish Fulton \u2013 Walking Transformation<\/em>\u00a0(2015), and Obsessions and Surreal Worlds<\/em> (2015).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She currently is Project Collaborator at 4A_Lab: Art Histories, Archaeologies, Anthropologies, Aesthetic<\/a>s<\/a> in Berlin, a research group by the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz \u2013 Max Planck Institute in collaboration with the Stiftung Preu\u00dfischer Kulturbesitz. She recently was the Director of Environmental Art at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education<\/a> in Philadelphia. She has previously held positions at a variety of international museums and non-profit organizations, including Independence Seaport Museum (Philadelphia), Philadelphia Contemporary (Philadelphia), KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin), Villa Merkel (Esslingen) and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through her role at the Schuylkill Center, she supervised the art initiative Lenapehoking~Watershed<\/a> (L~W), also administering its lead funding by the William Penn Foundation, and also led the Alliance for Watershed Education’s Art Work Group of arts professionals who advise the L~W initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She received a double major in Art History and Theater Studies from the Free University Berlin and was curatorial member at the art collective Vox Populi, Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n
