Marcando el Terreno

Marcando el Terreno — Flamenco & Feminism

Organized by Tina Plokarz and Pasión y Arte
7 – 8 April 2019

Marcando el Terreno was a weekend-long exploration into the art of Flamenco through the lenses of feminism and womanhood. The two-evening celebration at Vox Populi featured the in-process showing of La Bolivianita, a performance by Elba Hevia y Vaca (Philadelphia) followed by a conversation with the artist, and the screening of recent award winning documentary Impulso (2017), which illuminates the life and art of brilliant queer feminist flamenco dancer and choreographer Rocίo Molina (Spain).

The program was presented in collaboration with Elba Hevia y Vaca, Artistic Director of Pasión y Arte.
